Hmm. I don't think that the "midwestern" part is the most significant part of Obama's successful candidacy ... it's the "big city" part.


If you consider the Baby Boom generation to include people born as late as 1964, using the age 70 cutoff means that members of that generation can be eligible candidates for another six elections (2012, 2016, 2020, 2024, 2028 and 2032).



Agreed, but the states that Illinois borders on add up to 87 or so ECV. It meant we could flush (esp. Indiana) with our supporters much faster to do more lifting. not so much if you're from Cali...
