Husband, look what I found at the REWE today:
And also, Cherry Garcia. I took them both, and then discovered they have a whole section with a (admittedly limited) selection of flavors. My initial reaction was to stock up (old reflex from living in second and other world countries). But it seems we don't need to worry. Don't ask me what I paid for them, though! Hideously expensive is one word for it.
The Cherry Garcia will wait for you to come back home. The Cookie Dough... I'm not so sure.
It seems I might be able to send you out after B&J's after all!
(This is an old joke. The first month or two of my first pregnancy we spent in DC -- and I sent Doug out for B&J almost every night. That stopped once we moved abroad into countries sorely lacking in B&J's. It has always been a major complaint during pregnancies. But not anymore! Yay!)
Mmmm. Ice cream. Given that it is about a million degrees today (for the 4th day in a row), I might have to stop off and get me some B&J tonight. The worst part is choosing the flavor...

Teaser.
:-)
B&J's has about five flavors here which is NOT enough. But I'm happy to have it in any case. Now, if they would only please resurrect the Totally Nuts Doonesbury flavor, I'd be in 7th heaven!

I feel like such an infidel now, getting ready to criticize B&J's (mostly from the cost angle - the markup on raw ingredients for a pint of BJ is more than 1000%).
We've begun making our own: mint, chocolate, pistachio, orange, strawberry, almond, hazelnut, sweet cream, lavender-chocolate ganache, and also sorbets like blueberry, cherry, strawberry, peach, chocolate. Admittedly, it's a bit more work than buying, and the chiller takes up valuable freezer space, but the product is excellent.
And I KNOW that extra work right now is not exactly desired.
Which is why there are two pints of BJ at home waiting for Mrs. NYCMT.

How about beer ice cream? I believe my aunt got the recipe from a B&J ice cream "cook"book. It was surprisingly good.

Not suprized you needed this every night whilst pregnant, when you need it you MUST have it. My wife gave me the same demands lol, not for Ben & Jerry's though.
