Not that I think anything will come off it (I'm a cynic) but I was very heartened to read this story, and very impressed by the eloquence of those kids in front of TV cameras. Guts, smarts, and heart -- a good combination. There's hope.

I wish it were encouraging, more than remarkable. Not to take anything away from the students. It takes guts for a highschooler to do something like that. Especially since Bush's generation's interest in their children's generation ranges only from creepily overcontrolling to creepily prurient, and independence is most certainly not welcomed.
I think the decision in the "Bong Hits 4 Jesus case" shows how things are trending for outspoken youngsters.
