Wonderful blog! And this is no "giglet" speaking. (But what a fun word to add to my collection.)

Unrelated, Doug, but your thoughts? http://ksghome.harvard.edu/~drodrik/Lessons%20of%20the%201990s%20review%20_JEL_.pdf

Hm, interesting. I own a copy of _Learning from Reform_, the World Bank report they discuss there, and liked it so much I s/t/o/l/e picked one up from the local Bank office and gave it to Carlos.

Might be worth a post, if time allows. Thanks for the link!

Interesting read, Bernard. Learning from Reform can be purchased from the World bank or downloaded chapter-by-chapter from them here

Whatever one thinks of the World Bank's economics - I lean towards "Evil! Evil from the dawn of time!" - they have an interesting and innovative approach to knowledge management. Anyone interested in unlocking the knowledge potential of a large bureaucracy could do worse than giving them a close look.
